About Monika
I created my first website in 1998 while I was a junior in high school. It was a personal site built on gURL.com for all my X-Files fan art 👽
Studying graphic design in college taught me the roles typography, color, motion, layout, empathy, compassion, and accessibility play in communication. Eric Meyer’s writing on inadvertent algorithmic cruelty changed how I endeavor to connect with the other side of the browser.
I live in Tacoma, Washington with my spouse and we enjoy exploring new restaurants, record stores, and parks. I’ve had too many hobbies, from building mechanical keyboards, training for triathlons, to breeding freshwater aquarium fish and shrimp. I’m currently restraining myself from learning anything more about cyberdecks.
